Christmas Table Poinsettia Decoration | Silhouette Leatherette Sheets
Hi everyone, Verity here today from PrettyLittleButton.
Do you want to step up your table decorations this Christmas?
Well why not create Leatherette Poinsettia for your plates, and yes you can get white poinsettia so this is perfect for using the Silhouette Leatherette pack along with an elegant black and white theme.
Creating The Design
Download the design: 3D POINSETTIA FLOWER into your design space.
Ungroup the design and separate the the elements bases on the colour grouping.
With your design elements visible, change the media size setting in the Page Setup window to Letter size.
This will give you the boundary size on the media on the mat so you know where to position the design elements for cutting.
Reducing Waste
If you have Silhouette Studio Design Edition, you can use the Nest tool to nest your elements to reduce the amount of waste media when cutting.
Highlight all the design elements you want to nest, and make sure you have ‘nest to cut area’ selected before pressing nest.
If you want, you can adjust the padding and rotations to given more space or allow it to rotate more times to get a better fit.

Cutting The Design
When you’re ready to cut, make sure you select the Leatherette media in the drop down menu for ‘material’.
Tip: As this media is thicker than average media, make sure you do a test cut as those the software recommends may differ for you depending on how sharp your blade is.
Cut the petals out of the cream leatherette, the leaves out of the black leatherette and the stamen out of the rose gold leatherette.
Assembling The 3D Flower
To assemble, adhere the largest petal layer on top of the leaves, using foam pads for dimension.
Keep layering the petal layers up, rotating the petals to give variation. Lastly, layer up the stamens and add this to the middle of the flower.
