Halloween Themed Cookies

Hi all!

It is so nice to be back writing this blog (a bit of normality!)

Hope you are all keeping safe and well in these uncertain times.

Today I made some Halloween cookies and a cake stand to display them on.

Getting The Design

I brought my design onto my mat and used the trace tool to trace the outline.

I saved that to my file so I could then access it in my silhouette Alta software.

I then used the trace by colour tool to trace all the white areas to enable me to get rid of them.

Design Continued

Once I was left only with the black house, I then used the off-set tool and coloured it yellow.

Next, I grouped them together ready to print onto an edible icing sheet.

Printing The Cookie Cutters: P1

I took my deigns of the house, pumpkin and ghost one at a time into my Alta software and printed each one out to make three cookie cutters.

Printing The Cookie Cutters: P2

I did another trace of the pumpkin but only the lines, so I could take it into the Alta software and use the extrusion feature.

Doing this enabled me to emboss them once iced.

Cutting The Edible Icing Sheets

I printed the design onto an edible icing sheet.

I did a 0.50 print blead and I cut it out without a mat using a vinyl setting.

I also included the registration marks so the Silhouette Cameo knew where to cut.

The Finished Cookies

After making the cookies I used a little jam to attach the icing to the cookies.

For the ghost I added some sugar eyes.

For the house I added the cutout house on top of the icing using a little bit of edible glue.

Making The Cake Stand

I bought my design from the Silhouette store and cut all the pieces out.

I then glued them together.

Decoration For The Cake Stand

For the bats and spiders, I used the print and cut feature.

I used wafer paper and cut them out without a mat using the Silhouette Cameo.

I used edible glue to stick them on to some cake wires.

A Tasty Treat

I really enjoyed designing and making these Halloween themed cookies and cake stand.

I loved the challenge of making the cake stand and I hope you will too!

Happy Halloween!!!
