Personalised Door Sign
Hi it’s me Cheryl here again.
Well, it’s not so nice where I am today so I thought that I would come and play with my Cameo which I love so much!
I also love the Silhouette Design Store especially for quotes and there are some really good ones in there but I find the Inspirational ones best.
So come join me in making this gift for someone you care about.
Craft Materials Used
• Silhouette Premium Vinyl
• Silhouette Tool Kit
• Wooden Sign
• Wood Paint
• Transfer Tape
• String Or Twine
Open Your File
In your software open your file in the design space and you will see that your file appears on the virtual cutting mat.
Once opened, you now want to measure your sign or plaque so we can get our file to fit.
Resizing
To resize your image click to get the black box around your file and you will see the sizes shown too.
To get the size you want move the white boxes until you get your desired size.
Once happy then hit the Send button.
Time To Send
Here you will see your screen change and you want to change your material to ‘Vinyl, Carbon Fibre’.
You will see the settings change automatically so as long as you are using an AutoBlade you can click send to start cutting.
Prepare Your Sign
Whilst your vinyl is cutting you can get your sign painted and left to dry.
Once the vinyl is cut remove it from the mat and cut away any excess vinyl.
Putting It Together
Once cut you want to weed away the excess vinyl with your weeding tool until you are left with only your image.
Now grab your Transfer Tape and then cut it slightly bigger than your image.
Peel the backing off your vinyl and lay it on your sign and rub it to make sure it takes and then you can peel the transfer tape off and all that’s left to do is put some string in the holes ready to hang the sign.
I absolutely loved this project it was so easy and so quick to make and could easily be made in bulk to sell.
These projects are so quick that you could make at any time and easily update them as often as you like.
