Scratch Off Valentine’s Day Card | Silhouette Scratch Off Sticker Sheets

Hi everyone, Helen here today.

Today I am making a 3D scratch off valentine’s day card for the kids.

These cute 3D cards include a instant photo style scratch off card just to make them that little bit more fun!

Here is how I did it.

Open Your File

For my project I chose an instant camera style box card. When I opened it in Silhouette Studio I first needed to ungroup the pieces and then separate them into different colours so that I could cut out the same coloured pieces together. Luckily the file was already coloured so it was easy to separate. Once I had done this, I arranged each set of pieces by colour so that they could be cut out of A4 cardstock.

Once I was happy with how I had arranged all the pieces I cut them out of cardstock using the default cardstock settings in Silhouette.

I wanted to add an instant style photograph as the scratch off element of the card. To do this I made an oblong using the drawing tools at the left hand side menu. I created two oblong shapes. The first was 7.6 x 6.9 cm which I cut out of cardstock. The second oblong was 7.6 x 5.8 cm. The smaller oblong I cut out of the scratch off sticker paper. If you have resized your camera file you may have to adjust the size of the two oblongs.

I cut the scratch off sticker paper using the default settings.

Assembling The Card

Once you have the card pieces all cut out it is very easy to assemble it. Firstly take all of the larger white pieces and glue all of the decorations onto them using a glue stick.

Now fold over the ends of all the card inserts. Lay the large pink card on a flat surface. Then glue each white piece to one side of the pink card. As shown in the image. Once you have done that add glue to the taps on the opposite side fold the pink card over the top of the while card. This will then mean the card can lay flat.

Assembling The Scratch Off Photo

To finish the card, take the larger oblong card and write you message in the center.

Then stick the scratch off sticker paper over your message.

Will You Be My Valentine?

Thank you for reading the blog.

I hope that you have been inspired to create something exciting!
